“The Socialists are now ready to help and to try to prevent a crisis, like the current one, from happening again.” This is one of the messages that Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Leire Pajín, has communicated to the political party’s young officials at the Jaime Vera School, in Galapagar.

Pajín has ensured that the political course for the PSOE begins by "listening, discussing, and proposing." Thus, she insisted that "we must be close to those who are furthest away from politics because they are the ones who most need it in order to have a decent future" and implement "measures, although difficult" to guarantee a future in which "knowledge" is valued more than speculation.

"In the PSOE we defend the actions involve commitment and generosity," she affirmed, adding that "committing oneself to the country is looking beyond elections and the daily debate." Thus, she encouraged the young socialists "not to leave the debate’s" complex issues “in a box” because that "would not create electoral wear, but would be ungenerous, uncommitted, and irresponsible" according to the values of the PSOE and the country.

With regard to the commitment and work for the general interest of the Socialists, the Secretary of Organization lamented the attitude of the Popular Party, which "hinders the government's politics" both inside and outside our borders. Pajín has asked the members of the Popular Party to "reflect" on their predisposition to criticize the Executive on everything he does. "How does the PP’s attitude help the citizens of Melilla, the aid workers, or the Cuban prisoners beyond deteriorating the government?" Pajín wondered. She labeled as "intolerable" that in a time when politics must be "responsible", the principal opposing party "ally itself with whatever it takes" in order to attack the government.

She has therefore appealed to the "political with capital letters" (real, effective politics) that it is "more complex" and requires "debates" to "advance" today and predict "future challenges." "Let's do politics based on conviction and values", she has recommended to the young Socialists gathered in Galapagar. "Regarding the politics of tension and deterioration, the socialist politics should seek the greater, general benefit rather than the individual benefit."

At the meeting with the jóvenes, the Secretary of Organization was accompanied by the Secretary General of the PSOE-A and president of the Junta de Andalusia, José Antonio Griñán, and the Secretary General of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Eduardo Madina.

Madina has referred to the negotiation of the 2011 General State Budget to show that "it’s everyone's responsibility to have a Budget that meets the needs of all." The Secretary General of GPS has criticized some parliamentary groups for having already decided their vote without even having read the draft of the Government Budget. In this sense, the groups are expected to make their proposals and not remain anchored in the public accounts for the next session. "We are ready to reach the meeting points on things that are positive for this country in the moment we are living and to listen to groups such as the PNV," affirmed Madina.

For his part, José Antonio Griñán has defended the PSOE’s and Government’s work in its efforts to end the crisis. An objective for him is that the Socialists "seek alliances", while all that the Popular Party does is “ally itself with the crisis” so that there may be a change of Government. The only attitude of the PP is, according to the president of Andalusia, to "encourage hatred and the ‘no’ to everything."
