The director of the IDEAS Foundation, Carlos Mulas and the President of the Spanish Political Science Association of (AECPA), Juan Luis Paniagua, signedan agreement whereby the PSOE’s think tank will take an active part in the XXII World Congress of Political Science.

The IDEAS Foundation will install a booth at the Congress and will launch the book “Ciudadanía en 3D: Democracia Digital Deliberativa. Un análisis exploratorio” coordinated by the area of Politics, Citizenship and Equality of the IDEAS Foundation. Pippa Norris, who wrote the prologue to the book and is member of the Scientific Committee of the IDEAS Foundation, will attend the book launching. 

During the Congress, to be held in Madrid from July 8 to 12, there  will be a panel on “Regional R&D Policies: Models, Instruments and Players” on July 12 at (UCM – Ciencias de la Información, aula 15, 15:00 a 16:45), with the presentation of several works as a result of the project “Cooperación universidad-empresa en el sistema español de I+D: opiniones y experiencias de los grupos de investigación”, coordinated by the IDEAS, financed under the VI R&D National Plan and which is being implemented by a team of researchers from several centers of the CSIC and the universities of La Laguna and the Basque Country. 

Some of the aims of the AECPA are similar to those of the IDEAS such as fostering the development of Political Science and promoting scientific and professional cooperation among scholars and specialists based on a commitment to democracy and human rights. 

Founded under the patronage of the Unesco in 1949, the IPSA (International Political Science Association), the institution organizing the congress, brings together more than 70 groupings – national and regional political science associations- as well as 100 institutional member and more than 2,000 people.
